Announcing: Weekly Mindfulness Meditation Gathering
I genuinely look forward to our weekly gatherings where we can practice together. This isn't just a class; it's a cherished opportunity to carve out some time for guided meditation, allowing ample space for mindfulness—just as you've explored in my Introduction to Mindfulness classes. Sometimes, I might share a nugget of wisdom, while other times, I'll simply be your guide. You can expect themes like Dealing with Anxiety, Loving Kindness, Self-Love, and Forgiveness—-drawing from what feels pertinent in the moment.
As you consider joining, I encourage you to create a supportive environment that fosters peace. A cozy corner of your bedroom or any quiet space in your home can work beautifully. Find a chair or cushion you can return to regularly, and make that space your personal meditation sanctuary.
When it's time to meditate, please take a moment to turn off your phone, radio, and television. Allow yourself to disconnect and care for your heart and mind. In today’s world, it’s easy to feel constantly obliged to be available; meditation is our time to engage with stillness and connect with ourselves.
There's no single right posture for meditation—whether it’s a chair, bench, or cushion, choose a position that feels upright and alert. Your posture should reflect the qualities of heart and mind that you're aiming to cultivate. Within that uprightness, find a deep sense of ease and relaxation. If your body is feeling particularly tired or distressed, lying down is perfectly fine. Just make a committed choice to stay awake and present in that posture. Ultimately, the ideal position is the one that allows you to feel at home and at ease within your body.
Please commit to joining us promptly at noon and staying until the end to preserve the experience for everyone. I encourage you to have your camera on and type in your first name, so we can connect with everyone in the‘ room’.
I look forward to seeing you each week!
